Pool Rules

The pool works as follows: Entry fee is $30. For each selected week of the golf season you will pick ONE player to represent your team. You get a point for each dollar that player earns for that week. You can only use a player once. Your field of available players is unlimited. If you wish to choose Tiger for the Masters, Billy Casper for the US Open and Grant Fuhr for the Canadian Open that is up to you. If your player doesn`t play in the tournament or misses the cut, tough crap--you make $0 that week.

Flex Picks! Instead of making all your picks for the whole year upfront, you can make your picks whenever, or however you want, and you can make an unlimited number of changes (but you can still only use a guy once). If you want to enter all your picks upfront and never change them, that's cool. If you want to enter your picks week by week, that's cool. If you want to enter some picks upfront, then change them all around later, that's cool too.

The season will consist of 24 tourneys. There will be prize money handed out for the first half, second half, and overall winners. The first half includes all the tournaments from the PLAYERS up to and including the Canadian Open and the second half consists of the tournaments from the Memorial until the TOUR Championship.

As a bonus there is a weekly Skins Game. Each week will be worth $5 and will go to the OUTRIGHT winner of the week (ie whoever`s player that week earns the most money, whether they win the tournament or not). If there is no outright winner, the skin will carry over to the next week.

If the final skin does NOT get claimed in week 24, all remaining cash will go into the overall winner pot.

All entry fees are paid back in prize money. No holdbacks or "admin" fees!

Prize Money BreakDown

Total Prize Money = # entries * $30
Total Skins game money = $120

Total Payout = (Entry Fees - $120)

One-third of the Total Payout will distributed to each of the three segments: first half of the season, second half, and overall. The money distribution per segment is based on the number of entries:

How to Pay

Online is the only way to go baby!

The Zurich Classic

The Zurich Classic is a two-man team format. For the purposes of our pool we'll just pick one guy as usual and you'll get whatever money he gets. Take note of how they are giving out the money: "...the winning team will evenly split first and second place FedExCup points (500 for first and 300 for second for 800 total points, or 400 for each player). Official prize money will be distributed in the same manner."

The TOUR Championship

  • There is no official money paid out for the TOUR Championship. They only pay out the FedEx Cup bonus money. The guy who wins the tournament wins $18,000,000, which doesn't work for our pool purposes.
  • To keep things fair, and reasonable, we award our own prize money for TOUR Championship as if it was a normal tournament.
  • For the purposes of the pool, the payouts for the TOUR Championship will be, by finishing position:
    • $3,600,000
    • $2,160,000
    • $1,380,000
    • $960,000
    • $800,000
    • $720,000

    • $328,000
    • $324,000
    • $320,000
  • The TOUR Championship uses a thing called "Starting Strokes" and the better your FedEx Cup standing is, the more under par you are to start the tournament. For the purposes of our pool, the Starting Strokes *DO* count as part of your golfer's score for the tournament.
  • The Starting Strokes are as follows:
  • FedEx RankStarting Strokes
    1-10
    2-8
    3-7
    4-6
    5-5
    6-10-4
    11-15-3
    16-20-2
    21-25-1
    26-30E
  • Pro tip: It might behoove you to pick someone who is starting off with a very low score. That would be advantageous.

That is all there is to it. Pretty standard stuff really. We expect all entry fees to be paid by the end of March. Failure to pay will result in ineligibility for the Skins Pots. A Mr. C. Norris will also be dispatched to your residence to "collect".

GOOD LUCK AND HAPPING HACKING.
